I was hunting for a comic book
character that starts with the letter “G”.
This is for my Christmas Party.
This is the time of the year
that my liver screams help.
Every year we have a Christmas
costume party. This year I wanted to look like what I’m actually portraying.
Last year I went as Zohan but I
looked like a Reyes Haircutter. A
couple of years back I went as Zoolander
but I looked like a Universal Motion
Dancer. My first choice was actually to go as Gambit. However, showing up and merely throwing cards at my
officemates won’t do the trick. Besides, the gig went kapoot when I grew my
hair long and I don’t own a trenchcoat.
Then I tried my luck as George Jetson. The Jetsons was one of my favorite cartoons growing up and it is
easy to mimic but I just found out that I don’t own a white long-sleeved
collared T-shirt.
And then I was settled to buy a
mask and come to my office as The Ghost
Rider. Nicolas Cage might have destroyed the franchise but a flaming skull
donning jeans, chains, and a leather jacket is a great idea. Unfortunately
again I missed the chance because I was buying masks a month too late. Yes,
instead of getting the belongings of my officemate who went on a vacation and
acting as if I was him was a good idea... until I needed a mask skull.
Back to the drawing board.
After an hour of hunting, I
stumbled on this guy.
Gendo Ikari.
For those who don’t know him,
he is a Neon Genesis Evangelion
character. He is the self-centered father of Shinji that abandoned him when he
was still a kid. While I barely saw any Evangelion growing up, I saw a hentai
version of the series where Gendo was commanding the pilots to do stuff with Shinji.
Yes... I am familiar with
sleaze.
But hey, I wear glasses. I have
gloves at home. And if I can lure my girlfriend to go with me and buy a skull
or a white collared long-sleeved shirt in Trinoma,
then that would be awesome.
Otherwise I could just lock my
hands and look at people sleazily.
Game over.
It is also fun to dress up babies with Christmas
