- Black Superman’s kryptonite

He came with a mission…
He saw an opportunity…
He raided a halftime show…
He conquered a chance to
reclaim a spot with his fans…
But apparently he blew it.
Sorry Billy Ray Bates fans but the ASEAN
Basketball League team Air-Asia
Philippine Patriots has dropped the Black
Superman as its skills coach.
The flamboyant rim-rattler who
played for the Crispa Redmanizers
and the Ginebra San Miguel squad (Ginebra and Anejo Rum 65) was booted
out of the Patriots because of his repeated misconduct and with acts
detrimental to the team and to the league.
I know Bates will never
relinquish his devil-may-cry lifestyle but what on earth did he do to finally
knock him off from his gig?

| Who said this on Twitter!!! |
Hmmm…
I remember when he hijacked the
halftime show for the Ginebra versus
Rain or Shine game that almost (just almost) spoiled the debut of Paul Lee. He thought he’ll have speech
time but went out of the court disappointed which was why he made the AKTV Center Halftime Report into the
Billy Ray Bates show. Did anyone see Mico
Halili and Jason Webb smirking a lot when Bates was reading his lengthy statement
and they were waiting for their turn on live air?
Also, did anyone see Bates face
when Mico and Jason were popping out Bates-related jokes?

| Am I emphasizing on this blind item too much? |
The commentary never got a nice
response from Bates because Bates was determined to be taken seriously.
Hell, I would imagine that
Bates will even try out as an import if given a chance!
It sickens me that people weren’t
surprised of this development. While I don’t blame them, this is one of the
best imports to ever play in the PBA (I believe Bobby Parks and Norman Black will duke it out for the PBA’s All-Time Best Import Award). What
will happen to him now that he is here jobless?
Let me just end this on the Patriots’
team manager Erick Arejola’s
statement:
“We’re sincere to help him but
he’s misbehaving of late and we have no other option but to sever our ties with
him. I already warned him before but he missed several of our practices and
made acts detrimental to the image of the team.”
I am sold that the Black
Superman’s kryptonite is his fame.
As long as he has this and as
long as he thinks he has this… and do stupid things with it, it will be a very hard
life for Billy Ray Bates.
Will Grosby (still) help him?
Where now, Black Superman?
Game over!
