Derek
Fisher
has been bought off by the Houston
Rockets.
So I bet we can see D-Fish
returning to the Los Angeles Lakers,
just like what the Cleveland Cavaliers
did to Zydrunas Ilgauskas when they
traded him to the Washington Wizards
(this was the trade that sent Antawn
Jamison to Cleveland).
But no.
Because of the collective bargaining agreement that he
seriously pursued (he actually held this NBA season in limbo), Fisher can’t
sign with the Lakers. He will probably sign with the team on July 1 – the date
the players should have started bargaining on so that they wouldn’t cut down
the NBA season.
Honestly, Derek Fisher had this
coming after hijacking this season.
Anyway, if he’s not with the
Lakers, then where is Fisher headed?
The obvious scenario for Fisher
is to go home with a contender. Well, it’s better to have a veteran’s minimum than
teaching some idiot the ways of winning a game…
… or come to think of it…
staying home without a job.
Ugh.
So let me go on a limb and say
Derek Fisher will go to Oklahoma City.
The Thunder needs a guy that can
straighten Russell Westbrook come
playoff time. They also need a spare guy coming off the bench.
However the closest thing for
Fisher is to move to the Los Angeles
Clippers. After all, the Clippers need a body to fill in the void left by
the injured Chauncey Billups and he
is that guy.
Plus it will be like Senor Chang trying to join Jeff Winger’s crowd in Community during the show’s second
season – he is there but technically isn’t.
So I’m betting D-Fish will be
either in Oklahoma City or LA Clippers.
If he goes to the East, Kobe Bryant will go furious on him.
Game over.
