Welcome back for the tens that
check out my blog because of the pretty colors.
It is a boyfriend’s duty to
wait for his girlfriend to finish her work and it is a blogger’s duty to earn
money while enriching the minds of others.
Hehehe.
Anyway I’m going to write about
my favorite thing in the whole, wide, world. So here’s how it works. I have a
standardized way of computing a player’s efficiency…
… And it goes a little
something like this.
20 –
MARK CAGUIOA / KINGS
NEW
ENTRY
15.7PPG
• 2.8RPG • 1.3APG
I have been waiting for his
name to pop up in this list. The guy repelled an eye ailment to hinder his
season and his glaggles (glasses & goggles combo) looks awesome. He should
cut his hair though because he reminds me of an overly giddy version of Zaldy
Realubit.
19 –
PAUL LEE / ELASTO PAINTERS
RETURNING
13.7PPG
• 2.7RPG • 3.3APG
After sending the Elasto
Painters to the winning column again, The Lethal Weapon suffered an injury.
This is the last thing Yeng Guiao and his construction workers want right now.
18 –
RUDY HATFIELD / KINGS
RETURNING
5.8PPG •
8.3RPG • 2.3APG • 1.3SPG
We know his capabilities. Nuff
said. On that note, this guy just masterlocked, cobra clutched, and sleeper
held Richard Del Rosario and a hapless production assistant that wants to be an
actor in the June 17 telecast of AKTV’s Smackdown. Well… at least the H-Bomb is
a better actor than Alex Crisano.
Ogie Menor is my version of
Randy Orton by the way.
17 –
KERBY RAYMUNDO / KINGS
LAST
WEEK: 20
11.7PPG
• 6.0RPG • 1.8APG
Is it wrong for us to still
call him a kid? The guy is in his mid-30’s for crying out loud. But whatever
man, as long as the guy can elude his defenders on the inside and make mince
meat out of his competition, the last thing his foes need right now is his
nickname.
16 –
JEFF CHAN / ELASTO PAINTERS
LAST
WEEK: 12
14.1PPG
• 3.1RPG • 1.9APG • 1.1SPG
The healthy half of Rain or
Shine’s Kung Fu Connection will have to step up his game since Paul Lee could
be out indefinitely. This puts the scoring burden in the arms of Chan
especially since they are the only ones averaging in double figures besides
Jamelle Cornley this conference.
15 –
JAMES YAP / LLAMADOS
LAST
WEEK: 9
15.0PPG
• 3.9RPG • 2.4APG
King James drops down six spots
this week and it might not even be his fault. There were a lot of guys that
stepped up their games this week. While Yap had fifteen points, he did bungle
all of his seven tries at the three-point arc.
14 –
RANIDEL DE OCAMPO / TROPANG TEXTERS
LAST
WEEK: 13
14.6PPG
• 5.0RPG • 0.6BPG
After a long break, the Talk N
Text Tropang Texters went in and finally scored a victory to move to the .500
mark. With that said Ranidel De Ocampo has consistently helped Paul Harris in
their scoring while the rest of his team struggled.
13 –
GABE NORWOOD / ELASTO PAINTERS
RETURNING
8.7PPG •
5.6RPG • 3.3APG • 0.7SPG • 0.9BPG
Returning to the fray, Norwood
was one of those instrumental in keeping the focus away from Paul Lee’s injury.
Norwood has been magnificent playing the point-forward role for the E-Painters
and sure, he wasn’t supposed to be built this way but any help from this guy
should be received well.
12 –
JIMMY ALAPAG / TROPANG TEXTERS
LAST
WEEK: 8
7.8PPG •
2.5RPG • 8.5APG
Let’s just say this – even if
the return of Jayson Castro will more or less spark a significant stat drop,
you should always expect The Mighty Mouse to buck the odds. It was less than a
year ago when he was named MVP and he’ll probably try to salvage at least a
mythical spot this season.
11 –
SONNY THOSS / ALASKA
LAST
WEEK: 16
10.6PPG
• 7.9RPG • 1.4APG • 1.1BPG
Alaska started and finished the
season full of disappointment but when it comes to The Boss, it was a nice way
for him to pad his career stats. While most of his foes are playing less
minutes, he continues to have career-highs in points, rebounds, and blocks.
10 – JV
CASIO / TIGERS
LAST
WEEK: 14
9.7PPG •
2.8RPG • 6.7APG • 1.0SPG
Powerade’s backcourt combo is
one of the best this conference and to think that JV Casio has yet to sync his
offense with Gary David. The former Smart-Gilas hotshot ranks third after Jimmy
Alapag and Leroy Hickerson this conference in assists.
9 –
SOLOMON MERCADO / BOLTS
LAST
WEEK: 6
14.5PPG
• 4.2RPG • 2.3APG • 1.2SPG
Mercado’s scoring averages
continue to go down ever since Mario West replaced Champ Oguchi and Macmac
Cardona’s gradual return to his top form. With that said, he still ranks first
in all of Bolts in terms of scoring.
8 –
CHRIS LUTZ / BLAZE BOOSTERS
LAST
WEEK: 10
12.1PPG
• 4.4RPG • 4.4APG
It sucks that the injury to
Chris Lutz had to happen. Had not for the Commissioner’s Cup that Lutz missed
all but two games, he could have helped the Blaze Boosters push for a semifinal
campaign. With that said, Chris Lutz is probably the most consistent performer
of the team in the Governor’s Cup.
7 –
WILLIE MILLER / ENERGY
LAST
WEEK: 2
13.8PPG
• 3.7RPG • 4.3APG • 0.7BPG
Man Willie Miller had it tough.
The Thriller slipped five spots when he played unproductively against Rain or
Shine. With Danny Seigle in sickbay and Al Vergara has yet to warm up in his
role as Wynne Arboleda’s replacement, Miller needs to do more.
6 –
ARWIND SANTOS / BLAZE BOOSTERS
LAST
WEEK: 4
11.0PPG
• 8.4RPG • 1.6APG • 1.3BPG
Like I said, I bet Arwind must
be feeling the effects of a lot of big names violating his rebounding space and
messing up with scoring touches. It was in this conference last year when
Santos exploded and nearly beat up Jimmy Alapag for the MVP award. Imagine if
Marcio Lassiter debuts? How will he affect Arwind?
5 – ASI
TAULAVA / BOLTS
LAST
WEEK: 7
13.5PPG
• 10.2RPG • 0.7APG
Holy crap. Asi Taulava… 1999
called and wants you to bleach your hair blonde! Sure, his scoring might not be
up par with his younger days but can people stop Asi with the way he’s been
playing these past few weeks? If he can continue with this type of play expect
the worst for his enemies.
4 – LA
TENORIO / ACES
LAST
WEEK: 3
12.3PPG
• 5.0RPG • 5.0APG • 1.6SPG
I really can’t say anything
good about LA’s game. Sure, he and Thoss are the current lone, bright and
consistent spots in the Alaska roster but the Aces are about to finish their
worst season in almost two decades. Hopefully for Alaska, it seems as if they
are bent to improve next season.
3 – MARC
PINGRIS / LLAMADOS
LAST
WEEK: 5
7.8PPG •
11.0RPG • 3.4APG
Pingris is a rebounding demon
and people will like this fact. However, people will also like the fact that
Sakuragi is a decent passer. Ever since his return, the Llamados has only lost
one game. One of the most charismatic players of the league, Pingris is bent to
lead B-Meg’s frontline back to the finals.
2 – JAY
WASHINGTON / BLAZE BOOSTERS
LAST
WEEK: 11
14.4PPG
• 6.4RPG • 2.0APG • 1.1SPG • 0.7BPG
A week after Washington debuted
in the power rankings, J-Wash tore the house down anew by jumping nine spots.
Blame this on Washington’s superb performance against the B-Meg Llamados where
he pulled in a career-high 29 points and 9 rebounds. Will this mark the return
of the 2010-11 PBA Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference in his full
strength?
1 – GARY
DAVID / TIGERS
LAST
WEEK: 1
26.0PPG
• 4.7RPG • 3.2APG • 0.7SPG
Gary David sucks in being the
guy we should pity. The guy just scored 16 points in his last outing against
Ginebra thereby missing a chance to rewrite the PBA history books. BOOHOO! Is
scoring twenty points dating back to the semifinals of the Philippine Cup that
hard?! Because he failed to score twenty consecutive 20-point games, I hereby
sentence him to a definite Mythical Five citation and possibly the Most
Valuable Player Award.
As long as Powerade wins and
plays more games, the more chances of Gary David taking the MVP award.
Anyway, there were four new
names to sub for those that left the list. These names include B-Meg’s Yancy De Ocampo, Meralco’s Chris
Ross, Alaska’s Cyrus Baguio, and Barako Bull’s Danny Seigle.
Will these guys return in next
week’s rankings?
Game over!
