- Anthony Davis in Baron Davis' jersey

Anthony Davis’
unibrow is
understandably uni-er today following the announcement that he is the chosen
one in the 2012 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets. After spending a
couple of years under the nurture of the NBA, the Hornets will finally have a
team owner and with this announcement it’s an obvious call to see Davis as the main man of
the franchise.
This early we have seen the
results of his being. Emeka Okafor and Trevor
Ariza were sent to the Washington
Wizards in exchange of Rashard Lewis’
insanely expensive and immensely unnecessary contract which they subsequently
bought off. And then in addition to Davis ,
they have selected former Duke Blue
Devil and Doc Rivers’ spawn Austin Rivers as their tenth pick.
While people saw this as an insurance policy for Eric Gordon’s departure, let it be known that the Lewis trade
happened to keep this guy around.
But can’t Unibrow wear
something else?
I know New Orleans
had issues with Baron Davis but that
teal jersey is synonymous to a few players and without thinking the names are Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Muggsy
Bogues, Dell Curry, and Baron Davis. Davis
might not be much with the New York
Knicks but back then, he was New
Orleans ’ rockstar. Also, while Davis' formative and explosive years were played in Charlotte, the Hornets of New Orleans adopted the Charlotte looks.
If that Anthony Davis Slam Magazine cover is real and not
like the other photoshopped images that are surfacing in the internet, then
yeah… it’s fitting a number for the unibrow. If plays like he’s advertise then
he’ll be a wonderful player to display in merchandize and he could be an
ambassador for one-browed people of all walks of life.
Oh look… and they have the
same surnames too!
But then again maybe he won’t
use jersey #1. There are a couple of pictures on the net where Davis is wearing the #23 jersey. While the
number screams Michael Jordan (or a Cleveland Cav version of Lebron James), the Hornets haven’t this
big of a player since Baron Davis.
If Davis unleashes his Unibrow magic on the New
Orleans Hornets wearing the 23 jersey, I promise that this is the last time I’m
going to joke on his brow with this picture.
Game over.

I guess that just makes it a two-fer. I have an OG Baron Davis Nawlins jersey as well as a retro Unibrow jersey.
ReplyDeleteguess you're right. hopefully unibrow would be awesome in the nba. :)
